ITM Thai Hand Amsterdam is a franchise of ITM Chiang Mai, Thailand, recognized as the best Thai massage school in Thailand. We also have a location in Berlin. ITM Thai hand Amsterdam has been founded by Manuel Luque Aguilera and Nicole van Zurk. We both have a professional corporate background. In search for a career change, we got acquainted with Thai massage. Captivated by this preventive and therapeutic technique we decided to leave our jobs and learn more about Thai massage in Thailand.
In Chiang Mai, northern Thailand we followed the intensive teacher training program, CAPT (Certified Advanced Practitioner and Teacher Training Program) in the Nuad Bo Rarn technique (a traditional Thai massage of northern Thailand) at one of the most highly qualified schools of traditional Thai massage; ITM (International Training Massage School), acknowledged by the Department of Health and Education of Thailand. Moreover we studied in ITM Chiang Mai and in Spa Mantra amongst others Thai Foot Reflexology, Chair Massage, Table Massage, Deep Acupressure Massage with elbow and knee, Hot Stone Healing Massage, Aroma Herbal Oil Massage, Herbal Hot Compress and Tok Sen Ancient Thai Therapy. To get a more in-depth knowledge about the muscles used when practising Thai massage, we studied basic anatomy at the medical faculty of the University of Chiang Mai. In addition they taught level 1 and level 2 of Nuad Bo Rarn Thai massage at ITM School in Chiang Mai and at the Suksa Song Kroh School in Chiang Mai. Years later ITM Thai Hand Amsterdam became a franchise of ITM Chiang Mai Amsterdam and we opened ITM Thai Hand Berlin.
In Bangkok we studied the southern technique of traditional Thai massage in the oldest and most famous massage school of Thailand: Wat Po Salaya. Here we studied the protocol of Wat Po traditional massage, different therapeutic treatment massages and Thai medical herbal hot compress treatment. Moreover they studied Thai yoga self-stretching “Rue-si Dat Ton”, an ancient technique of Thai yoga for longevity.
Additionally we have experience in giving the different techniques of Thai massage, like relaxing and therapeutic massages, to a variety of customers, from children to elderly people. Moreover we still go every year back to Thailand to refresh our trainings and to teach there as well.
